Oliver Jackson

Oliver has been in the property investment space since 2014. His own multi-million dollar portfolio was built using a buy, renovate and buy again strategy, and is the same strategy he uses to build his clients’ portfolios today.


With 10 years of experience in the construction industry, Oliver uses sweat equity to renovate his investments, perform feasibility studies and strategically plan the fastest, most cost-effective way to use trades to complete his projects. This is how he went from zero assets to a multi-million dollar portfolio in just three years.

A Desire to Break Free

Oliver’s drive was born from the desire to bust out of the demanding construction business and the stress that had burned him out after a decade of hard work. His career provided an impressive income of $320k a year or so but wasn’t enough compensation for the hours away from his kids who were quickly approaching school age. As his priorities changed from work to family, he struggled working 14 hour days six days a week and needed to make a change.

While they say necessity is the mother of invention, in Oliver’s case the need to embrace fatherhood led him to purchase his first property. Under the mentorship of an experienced Buyers’ Agent, Oliver soon discovered he had a taste for property and his passion drove him to learn all he could about the lucrative business of investment.

Getting a Real-Life Education

Spending three hours driving from his new property site back and forth every day provided ample time for him to absorb information listening to insightful, hard-driving podcasts including a powerful discussion with Buyers’ Agency owner Ben Handler.

As the biggest buyers’ agency owner in Australia, Oliver was instantly compelled to reach out to Ben. He signed up for a class to learn the ins and outs of becoming a buyers’ agent and that set him on the path to creating Living Property. However, the time his investment required is another reason he identifies with his clients. He knows they have money to invest, but not the time required to get their money working for them.

Oliver discovered the importance of networking and set his sights on making friends with all the biggest and best in businesses in Australia. His journey has allowed him to continuously grow himself and his business. He now enjoys his time helping clients, and the balance his new career provides for spending every day with his kids.

Creating a New Work/Life Balance

His decision to walk away from his high-earning job and find a way to be the best father possible led him to build his own life balance with Living Property. However, the journey wasn’t an easy one with several personal challenges along the way including a long and expensive divorce. The pressures behind him, he discovered a clean and sober lifestyle with a new philosophy that where energy goes, energy flows.


He has a true appreciation for his clients as well as his own love of what he does. He is driven by his desire to help his clients enjoy the same success as him, and the freedom and opportunity money brings to life.

As a result, he’s created Living Property as a full-service agency that helps his clients meet their goals. He takes time to understand each client, so he can customise an investment strategy to help them in their special situation. A big part of his job is helping to educate his clients on new ways of investing, looking at areas across Australia outperforming the averages. He also looks for properties offering value add opportunities so he can leverage his construction expertise and wide existing network to expand their equity.

Cosmetic Renovation Opportunities

When he spots a cosmetic renovation equity opportunity, his role doesn’t end with the purchase. Instead, Living Property takes its clients through the entire process, developing a strategy, hiring the professionals to come up with designs, and then project managing the tradespeople to complete the work.

Each strategy is driven based on the target buyers and/or renters so his clients invest in the right features that appeal to the right crowd. As well, Oliver uses his connections to negotiate lower rates to reduce renovation costs. This ensures his clients realise the highest returns with no more effort required on their end. They invest the money and Living Property does the rest.


There are also development opportunities where Living Property steps in and provides a strategy to increase equity through builds. Oliver works with his clients to understand their budget, and how much time they are willing to invest to realise higher profits. Again, he handles everything with his team, using his construction experience to ensure the entire build is to the highest standards. They manage every detail from the planning stage to zoning and dealing with council and permits to the final sale or finding property management.

Oliver has created his own life/work balance by building his wealth and remaining driven to succeed. He can now easily afford both the time and money to lead his dream life, be available for his kids and never sacrifice the quality of service he provides to each and every one of his clients. His new goals include not just continuing to build his wealth and the wealth of his clients’ but also leaving a legacy for his kids.

Every time Oliver gets a chance to help his clients, he feels amazing, having lived the same struggles as them to get into the property game. He knows how easy it is to make millions and just as easily lose them. He managed to build a very strong presence in the buyers’ agent space because the thought of going backwards isn’t an option.


Oliver feels that same rush of accomplishment when his clients succeed as he does when his own properties deliver the profits. He wants his friends and family to be able to live the life he’s living, and he understands property is the best way to do it. He knows what it’s like to come to a point in life where you have money in the bank that isn’t contributing to growing wealth. As a result, he helps each client use their money wisely and reap the rewards. As far as he concerns, that’s a pretty awesome job.
